Just one thing to share with you on this Friday and it’s a Chevy truck commercial. I’m sure you’re wondering how a truck commercial could be a favorite because when you think of truck commercials you probably think of men in trucks driving over all kinds rocks and mountains. That’s what I think of too but, this one is a little different. It features a little boy playing with a toy truck and yes, the truck is driving over all kinds of obstacles, like less-than-amused family dog, but he also stops to attach a pink trailer to the truck. When the truck finally arrives at what looks like a dollhous, the boy holds a woman doll who welcomes the truck home just as a real life Chevy truck pulls up outside the house. A truck commercial featuring a little boy playing with a doll?! Yeah, that has to be a favorite. I’m sure the men will say it’s an action figure, since she does look like some sort of warrior but I will definitely take this commercial victory given the ignorance of some other ad campaigns (Dr. Pepper).
Check it out for yourself!

This is such a cute commercial. I love all his toys and am choosing to believe the doll with pink hair and the dollhouse are his and not his sister’s (or some other child’s). The little boy reminds me of the kid from Kindergarten Cop, which is unrelated in general but added to my enjoyment.

Kristen,
You apparently did not notice that the female doll in the commercial is dressed in leather hot pants, garters, and bra. Nothing more domestic and broadminded than a kid’s action figure being greeted by his S&M girlfriend/wife.

Better than that… if you guys never noticed.. the commercial has been changed… the original one showed a very clear close up of the S&M girlfriend/wife, in the “revised one”.. they clearly haze her out in the close up so that you can’t make out her outfit so clearly… also the fact that the figure was either black or at least latin… to add to that… the original one doesn’t have a wife in the driveway to greet dad/husband… but the revised one makes sure to add a cute little “appropriate” wifey to make the family look complete…
How did this get pass the advertising execs in the first place??
